In Ayutthaya Province, Thailand, Kae is building a visual world where fashion, movement, and bicycles blend seamlessly together. Through her project Kamon.studio, she creates images that sit somewhere between editorial fashion photography and everyday cycling culture. What began as simple curiosity about bicycles gradually turned into a true passion. Today, the bicycle is not just a means of transportation, but an essential part of her visual identity.
Hey Kae! Can you tell us about yourself and how Kamon.studio was born?
Hello Emanuele! I work full-time, and Kamon.studio is something I created in my free time, a small space where I can share the clothes I truly love. I didn’t want to sell just anything. I wanted to curate pieces that reflect my taste and my mood. It started simply, but it makes me genuinely happy.
How would you describe the philosophy behind your work?
I believe that behind every achievement, there are always unseen hands and quiet support. No success is ever completely individual. My work is shaped not only by my effort, but by the people who stand beside me.
Your photos look like fashion magazine editorials. How important is visual storytelling in your project?
I’ve always been drawn to beautiful images. Fashion photography, mood, atmosphere, they stay with me. For a long time, I admired that world from afar. Now that I can create my own images, I try to tell small stories through them. Each photo carries a feeling I want to preserve.
“At first it looked like fashion. Then I realized it was a lifestyle, something that slowly changes the way you breathe and move.”
Do you take your photos yourself, or do you have someone helping you?
Most of the time, a close friend helps me. It’s a shared process, I bring the vision, and together we shape the frame. That collaboration makes the images feel more alive.
Do you see clothing as a form of personal storytelling?
Absolutely. The way we dress quietly reveals who we are. I’m especially drawn to vintage style, it carries history, character, and emotion. Clothing is never just fabric; it’s identity.
“The bicycle is no longer just something I ride, it has become part of my rhythm, my identity, and the way I see the world.”
How did you start getting into cycling?
At first, I was simply looking for something meaningful to do after work. Friends suggested cycling, they said it would be good for my health, and honestly, it looked cool. But once I started riding, it became more than that. It gave me space to breathe.
When did the bicycle become part of your creative expression?
Somewhere along the way, the bicycle stopped being just an activity and became part of my daily rhythm. I didn’t plan it, I just fell in love with the feeling of riding. Naturally, it entered my creative world too.
Do you think cycling has its own style and identity?
At first, I thought it was just a trend. I saw many people riding and it felt fashionable. But once I experienced it myself, I realized it’s a lifestyle. There’s a quiet confidence in cycling, and that, to me, is real style.
What is it like cycling in Ayutthaya? Are there any routes outside the city that you enjoy? Which one do you like the most?
I love riding through the rice fields near my home. The open landscape, the soft light, the calm atmosphere, it feels very peaceful. Riding with friends through those natural spaces is simple, but it’s where I feel most free.
What does a perfect day look like for you?
A perfect day is one without pressure, where I can enjoy small, simple moments while feeling healthy in both body and mind. And of course, good weather helps. In Thailand, the heat can be intense, so a gentle breeze makes everything better.
What music, books, or films inspire your creativity?
Music inspires me the most. I often say that without music, my heart would slowly fade. Sound creates emotion, and emotion fuels creativity.
If your work had a feeling, what would it be?
I hope it would feel warm and uplifting, something that leaves a quiet but lasting impression.
What does freedom mean to you?
Freedom means being able to live life in my own way. For me, success is not only about achievement, but about having purpose — something that guides me forward with intention.
It is always inspiring to see how the bicycle can take on different meanings and interpretations. In Kae’s world, the bicycle is not just a tool for moving from one place to another,it becomes style, identity, and visual language. Her images remind us that cycling can be elegant, atmospheric, and deeply narrative. We will continue to follow her journey and the beautiful frames she shares with the world. Thank you, Kae.
Let’s escape!
